The DualSense Edge wireless controller, the ultra-customizable controller for PlayStation 5, is now available. Take a look at the DualSense Edge wireless PS5 controller, which has customizable controls, interchangeable stick caps, back buttons, and more.
Today, we are excited to introduce the DualSense Edge wireless controller for PlayStation 5. This’s Sony Interactive Entertainment’s first high-performance, ultra-customizable controller. The DualSense Edge wireless controller is designed to offer you an advantage in gameplay by allowing you to build custom controls. It allows you to create your own unique gaming experience according to your playstyle.
The DualSense Edge wireless controller has a variety of hardware and software-based customization options for creating a truly unique controller experience, including:
PS5 Controller: Controls That Can Be Remapped or Deactivated
You can personalize the DualSense Edge wireless controller by remapping or deactivating specific button inputs and fine-tuning your aim by adjusting stick sensitivity and dead zones (the distance your analog stick moves before it is recognized in a game). Furthermore, each trigger is configurable, with choices to customize travel distance and dead zones to your liking. For example, in competitive FPS games, you may manually reduce trigger travel distance for quicker inputs, while in racing games, you can minimize the dead zone for precise throttle control.
Save Multiple Control Profiles
Once you’ve discovered your ideal control settings, you may save them to separate profiles and switch between them on the fly. You’ll always have your chosen controls for your games at the ready with the DualSense Edge wireless controller. Whether you’re confronting Norse gods and monsters in God of War Ragnarök or rival gamers in an online battle royale.
Dedicated Fn Button
This allows you to easily adjust your setup while remaining focused on the in-game action. Quickly switch between your pre-set control profiles, and adjust game volume and chat balance. Access the controller profile settings menu to set up and test new control iterations while in game.
Changeable Stick Caps and Back Buttons
Three different styles of swappable stick caps (normal, high dome, and low dome) keep you comfortable while preserving grip and stability. The two swappable sets of back buttons (half-dome and lever) may be modified to be any other button input, giving you access to more important functions.
Replaceable Stick Modules
Play for longer by replacing each individual stick module on the controller (replacement stick modules will be sold separately).
Built-in DualSense Wireless PS5 Controller Features
When playing supported games, the DualSense Edge wireless controller retains the DualSense wireless PS5 controller’s signature comfort and immersive experience, including haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, a built-in microphone, motion controls, and more.
In addition to the provided stick caps and back button sets, the DualSense Edge wireless controller includes a USB Type-C braided cable that employs a connector housing to secure onto the controller, making it considerably less likely to slide out at an inconvenient time. The supplied carrying case allows you to charge the controller via a USB connection while it’s in the case. It keeps your DualSense Edge wireless controller and components together and tidy,
Daisuke Kurihara, Art Director, oversaw the controller’s design and offers some insights into how it came to be:
“Creating the DualSense Edge wireless controller was a dream come true for our team.” We wanted to build on the heritage of iconic PlayStation controllers. We’ve designed a controller that allows users to explore and modify components based on their own unique playstyle. Whether they are competitive gamers or just like having additional options to tailor their play. We think gamers will appreciate the DualSense Edge wireless controller’s creative design details. They include a distinguishing DualSense controller-inspired black-and-white color scheme. You’ll also find a distinctive PlayStation Shapes pattern on the touchpad and trigger surfaces.
“We’d want to thank the numerous gamers, professional esports players, and developers who provided comments on the controller’s design.”
– Art Director Daisuke Kurihara
We look forward to releasing more information on the DualSense Edge wireless controller, including launch dates, in the coming months, and can’t wait to see how the PS5 community uses the controller’s customization capabilities to their full potential.
